The Palets bretons are butter biscuits and are THE ideal speciality for an afternoon snack or to enjoy with a coffee. They are also known as Traou-Mad (which means “good things” in Breton). Golden and thick, these biscuits are appreciated for their generosity and their crunch. And they are easy to make, so let's do it !
Ingredients for 20 biscuits
- 80 g de beurre demi-sel - Semi-salted butter, or normal butter and you add salt
- 2 jaunes d’œufs - egg yolks
- 80 g de sucre en poudre - caster sugar
- 150 g de farine - flour
- 1 sachet de levure chimique - 1 packet of baking powder
- 1 cuillerée à soupe de miel liquide (facultatif) - 1 soup spoon of honey (optional)
Preparation
- Melt the butter and leave to cool.
- In a salad bowl, pour in the egg yolks and the sugar, and then whisk.
- Add the cooled melted butter, the honey, flour and baking powder.
- Mix by hand to form a smooth batter and shape a roll, 4-cm in diameter.
- Wrap it in cling film.
- Leave in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
- Pre-heat the oven, thermostat 6 (180°C).
- Remove the cling film and cut 5-mm slices.
- Put the slices of dough into the muffin tins.
- Cook for 15 minutes.
- Leave to cool and enjoy!
