New rules from June 2nd to June 22nd

Today Prime Minister Edouard Philippe made the announcements about the new rules for the coming period starting June 2nd. Good news, the rules are much softened.


France has now 2 zones : green and orange. All the regions are green but the Ile de France (Paris and its suburbs), Mayotte and Guyane which are orange

From June 2nd
The gestes barrières and all the present protocol : social distance, ... REMAIN and maximum groups of 10 people.
  • We will be able to travel within France, with no limit of 100km from home
  • Parks, beaches, lacs will open again 
  • Restaurants and Bars will open : as for the one in the orange zone, only outdoor
  • Theatres, swimming-pools, sports facilities will open again in green zones ; in the orange zone it should be possible on June 22nd.
  • Cinemas will remain closed. They will open on June 22nd.
  • Schools 
    • Will start again in the green zones for all ; as for the pupils in the orange zone only professional lycées will reopen under certain conditions. 
    • The baccalauréat in French (for the pupils in 1ère) is cancelled and replaced with the results of the 2 first quarters.
  • The stop covid application will be available and on voluntary basis
The European borders might open on June 15th with no quarantine depending on the situation.
