How we will be able to live our life after May 11th,
is too early to know. The government is working on it and will come back with the roadmap in about 15 days.
What the government already announced is that, after May 11th, our life will not be exactly the same, not the same freedom as it was before the lockdown, at least not immediately, and probably not before long, but more freedom than during the quarantine.
After May 11th : Live with the virus - "Vivre avec le virus"
Live with the virus, will be based on 3 principles
- Continue
- The "Gestes barrières"- wash our hands, cover coughs and sneezes, ...
- To keep a physical distance of 1m from other people, when in public
- Make tests : 2 types
- 'Virologiques" PCR test : to check on a specific moment if a person is infected or not. This will be used with people showing the Coronavirus symptoms.
- "Sérologiques" : serological tests for people who may have been in contact with the virus, to detect antibodies in the blood. Today, nobody knows (even internationally) if this is sufficient to be protected against the Coronavirus in the future.
- If somebody is tested positiv, the person will have the choice of being confined at home, and hence the whole family living in the same home, or being confined in a hotel. In both cases, there will be a medical care
The roadmap with details, will be communicated within 15 days, but what is already on the tracks is
- A new way of living together with some freedom again
- There will be a gradual release of the lockdown.
- An app is being developed by France and other countries which will track us. If it appears that we were in contact with someone positiv, we will be contacted. This App will not be mandatory, but based on volunteering only.
- In general : we will have to continue with the "Gestes barrières" and the social distance. Regarding the daily life :
- Transports : masks may be mandatory in public transports and public spaces.
- Entreprises : remote work will be encouraged to be continued when possible.
- Shops (commerce) will progressively be allowed to open again. Bars and restaurants will though not be able to open until further notice.
- Schools : rules still have to be determined. Some ideas : Half a class one week, half the other week, class in bigger spaces to respect the social distance.
Florence Ader says, that research is going very fast, as research is very active and not only in France but worldwide.
"The goal of the government : live again as normal as possible,
thus with compelling rules, but less compelling than the quarantine.
It is very important to continue being rigourous,to keep this freedom, the virus is still alive!"
