One crisis
may hide another one: according to the High Authority for Health, the breakdown of
care constitutes a significant risk for the health of everyone.
Whether you have the symptoms of COVID-19 or
any other illness, do as usual: make an appointment for a video or office
consultation. Do not hesitate to contact your practitioner: he will offer you
the most suitable solution.
Another solution that you may not know about,
consists in making online appointment thanks to doctolib : https://www.doctolib.fr/
for instance.
Nota :
we share the doctolib service as we know and use it and as it turned out to be
very efficient during this health crisis for us. But you can still call your
own doctors or use any other service you feel comfortable with!
Creating an
account on doctolib is free of charge. One parent may add her/his kids to
her/his account. Your doctor may be using this service today, or not.
Doctolib
works closely with health professionals to facilitate your access to care:
- In
video consultation: a video consultation allows you to consult a doctor from
your home, via your smartphone or your computer. The reimbursement terms are
the same as a physical consultation.
- In
physical consultation: many doctors have already put in place exceptional
measures to receive their patients in the best possible safety conditions
(reinforced disinfection, refurbished waiting rooms, etc.). In order to make an
appointment, you can of course access the availability of your practitioner by
phone or via Doctolib.
NOTA: To get to your appointment, you will need your Attestation de Déplacement Dérogatoire, and tick Option 3 : Consultations et soins .....
If you need to attend an appointment far from home –with a specialist for
instance- your doctor will send you by mail/thanks to doctolib a certificate
that will explain and authorized your being out away from home.
What we like about doctolib:
- There
are plenty of doctors, generalist and specialists who use the service.
- It is easy to find which doctor offers a video-consultation
- Once you enter your criteria, there is a filter that allows to find a doctor who speaks according to the language spoken, which might make things more comfortable for a video-consultation.
What instructions should I follow in the event
of a physical consultation?
- Come without accompaniment. If this is not possible, bring a maximum of one person.
- Respect your consultation schedule in order to spend as little time as possible in the waiting room.
- Respect a minimum distance of one meter in the waiting room or outside with any other person.
- Wash your hands before entering the office and after your consultation.
- Follow the other instructions posted in the waiting room.
What to do in case of symptoms of Coronavirus
(COVID-19)? See also the article from last week "COVID-19 : How to protect ...)
- In case of moderate symptoms (you cough and / or have a fever): contact your doctor or book a video consultation. Stay at home and isolate yourself.
- If you have severe symptoms (in addition to cough and fever, you have trouble breathing and / or have felt unwell), call 15.
