What if your residence permit expires between March 16th and May 15th 2020 ?
For residence permit expiring between March 16th and May 15th,
2020: the period of validity of all residence permits for foreigners is
extended by 3 months.
This extension is automatic. It also extends social rights and the right to job.
The period of validity of the following
documents which expire between March 16th and May 15th, 2020 is extended by three months:
• long-stay visas;
• residence permits, whatever
their nature, with the exception of special residence permits delivered
• foreign diplomatic and
consular staff;
• provisional residence
permits;
• asylum application
certificates;
• receipts for residence
permit applications.
This extension is automatic.
It also extends social rights and the right to job.

an expired permit are advised not to leave the French territory, even if it is
extended by 3 months"
Once the Prefectures
will re-open, you will know how to proceed for regularization.
Quarantine until April 15th at least
Prime Minister Edouard Philippe spoke last Friday March 27th.
He said we are at the beginning of the pandemic and announced the extension of the quarantine until April 15th.

If so, every evening at 20h (8pm), people are at their windows and applaud to show their support to the medical staff.

Rules and Mandatory document when going out of home
Further to the coronavirus, it is mandatory in France to fill in a form to be able to go out of home.
On March 23rd, a new form has been issued. Click here Attestation de déplacement dérogatoire
This form has to be issued each time. You can print it or it can be handwritten with a pen (not a pencil).
Some City Halls make them available at their reception.
From March 23rd, if you go out for sport, you are allowed to stay out maximum 1 hour and at a distance around your home of 1 km maximum.
