Funny French Expression : Un pense-bête

When you need to do something, you may write a memo or find another idea which will help you remember to do it.

In French you may hear someone use the words : un pense-bête. If you translate literally 

• pense : think
• bête : stupid

So in French, litterally, you'd translate this expression saying : "A think stupid"
